Lauren Whittemore, IACP
Lauren Whittemore has been training dogs for twenty years —from search and rescue dogs to household pets. Her passion is helping dogs become valued members of the community by building strong partnerships between the dogs and their humans.
With an academic career focusing on animal behavior and former career as a wildlife biologist, Lauren acquired a diverse background in the science of animal behavior. As a search and rescue dog handler with Front Range Rescue Dogs for 13 years, Lauren helped train many other search dog teams along her two working partners.
She is a past President and current Emeritus member of Front Range Rescue Dogs. She has certified dogs in wilderness airscent, water search, and human remains detection. (Lauren’s Philosopy). Lauren also worked with the City of Boulder to develop the dog owner training for the opens space off leash tag program
Lauren is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. She is continuously increasing her knowledge and skills by attending seminars and conferences with the best trainers in the country. Her training history includes education from legends Bob Bailey, Leslie Nelson, Terry Ryan, Trish King, Steve White, Martin Deeley, and Aimee Sadler.
